When: Once a week
Where: An ethnic minority school
Fist Start Date: Thursday 28 May
The goal of this program:
With the extreme weather in Sapa it is often the ethnic minority children do not shower and take care of their personal hygiene. This program aims at educating the local ethnic minority children how to wash their hair and body.
How the program will work:
Each week we take some Volunteer Sapa guides from the "Sapa Guide Club" to one Ethnic minority school. This program must be held at the school so that psychologically the children remember that they must remember to be clean when they go to school. The Volunteers will teach the children how to wash them selves and educate them on the importance of personal hygiene. Each week for 4 weeks the Volunteers will go to the same school at the same time to continue the program.
At the end of 4 weeks the Volunteers will move onto another village and another school. They will return once a month to check on the previous school to ensure they are maintaining weekly personal hygiene.
What is needed?
1 Volunteers from the "Sapa Guide Club" and some interested foreigners
2 Donations of shampoo, soap, combs, face towels, plastic bowls
3 Support from the Sapa TIC to promote the project to the local authorities
